Debate Guidelines -- Revolutionary War

On September 23, you will be expected to participate in an informal class debate. I will divide the class into 3-4 groups and you will be responsible for arguing a specifc side of an issue. All of the issues will connect to the guiding question for the unit.

You will be debating (either in support or against) one of the following topics:

Were British actions the main cause of the war for independence?

Was fighting for independence the right decision to make in 1776?

You need to come prepared to debate either side of either issue.

Your grade will depend on the following:
- Constructive participation in the debate
- notes prepared for the debate
