On October 27 or 28, you will be expected to participate in an informal class debate. I will divide the class into 3-4 groups and you will be responsible for arguing a specifc side of an issue.
All of the issues will connect to the guiding question for the unit. You will be debating (either in support or against) one of the following topics:
Was George Washington really the "indispensible man" to America in the early years of nationhood?
By 1815 had America lost touch with its Revolutionary roots?
You need to come prepared to debate either side of either issue.
Your grade will depend on the following:
- Constructive participation in the debate
- notes prepared for the debate
